An Ambient A.I. device is always listening to, and recording everything it hears.
You will give it voice commands and the A.I. program will execute them.
It will especially record voices, and save and analyze all of your conversations, all day, everyday.
They will most likely not be a smartphone replacement. They will not have a keyboard, just a very advanced microphone, speaker and other sensors.
It may be worn like a pendant around our necks or might be a little cube on our desks that is never turned off.
These devices will link to our other peripherals, computers and phones.
They will take over tasks for us, and act like a real assistant taking control over computer and phone processes.
They will increase our productivity, but will it be worth the personal cost to us?
Ambient A.I. devices are always recording your voice, and co-workers voices as well as capturing other information within a certain radius.
For decades, we have been suspicious our cell phones were secretly listening to and recording us.
This is an unforgivable invasion of privacy.
Ambient A.I. devices openly disclose their breach of our privacy!
They are recording you unapologetically 24/7, even two cubicles over.
This is a dystopian nightmare.
They will start to proliferate in the very near future.
We have to make sure that these devices are disallowed in shared office spaces.
Their ability to record is the highest quality.
So our bosses ability to surveille us and gather our personal information becomes complete while in the office.
These devices remove all privacy from your office space.
Now is the time to start the conversation at your company, no matter the size, about forbidding such devices in shared office environments.
The best analogy is that if your boss would not allow you to run a tape recorder all day hanging around your neck, Ambient A.I. devices should never be allowed in the office either. There is no difference.
