Most NJ Businesses, especially LLCs and Corporations, need to file a NJ Annual Report and pay a $75.00 fee. This is in addition to any income taxes you may be liable for in NJ.
Many NJ businesses have been receiving a scam form in their regular mail. It looks like an official form and it is meant to deceive you. They want to charge you $120.00, on top of your $75.00 fee, to file this form which you can easily do yourself, but it looks as if it is a normal charge from NJ.
Also, if you live in the state where your company was formed, you do not need a separate registered agent. You can be your own and save the money you may have been paying to a registered agent.
